The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) has appointed Anushil Kumar as its new Chief Executive Officer.
FASANOC President Cathy Wong announced the appointment at Fiji Olympic House on Thursday. Kumar succeeds Vanessa Kilner and officially starts in the role on Tuesday 10 November 2026.
Kumar joins FASANOC from Cricket Fiji, where he has been Chief Executive Officer since 1 June 2026. Before that, he spent almost a decade with the Fiji Football Association, including roles as General Manager Operations and Manager Marketing and Sponsorship. He also served as interim CEO of Bula FC during its entry into the OFC Professional League.
He knows Team Fiji from the inside. Kumar was a Team Fiji team manager at the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara and the 2025 Pacific Mini Games in Palau.
Kumar thanked the Executive Board and outlined his priorities for the role.
“I am deeply honoured and humbled by the trust placed in me by the FASANOC Executive Board. This appointment is a significant milestone in my journey, and I look forward to working with our National Federations, athletes and stakeholders to build on the strong foundations of the Olympic Movement in Fiji.”
“My priorities will be to strengthen governance, unlock new commercial opportunities, support our National Federations and ensure athlete welfare and development remain central to our work. We must create an environment where our athletes can thrive and where our sporting organisations are equipped to grow and succeed.”
“I believe the future of sport in Fiji holds enormous potential. My commitment is to work collaboratively, turn that potential into meaningful progress and leave FASANOC and the Olympic Movement stronger for the generations that follow.”
