Since inception, FASANOC is the official entity for the preparation, attendance, and reporting back of all national outings to all editions of the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, and the Pacific Games.

As other formats of the Games have evolved, this responsibility has continued: editions coming under evolution of these games include the Summer and Winter Olympics, Youth Olympic Games, Commonwealth Youth Games, and the Pacific Mini Games. This year, 2021, the focus is Tokyo 2020.

FASANOC through its partnership and collaboration with member National Federations, prepares teams through resource mobilisation, management of Government provided funding, support from corporates, and works in close collaboration with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Oceania National Olympic Committees (ONOC), the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), the Pacific Games Council (PGC), and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

Its programmes managed and implemented by various Commissions plays a critical role in preparing Team Fiji in every national multi-sport outing. These include programmes and support through its Athletes' Commission, Sport Education Commission, Selection Justification Commission, Women in Sport Commission, High Performance Commission, Marketing and Sponsorship Commission, Olympic Solidarity Commission, and the Medical Commission. This organic network of Commissions play an integral role in providing support to Team Fiji by enlisting experts, athletes' representatives, and passionate individuals to build sport directly via targeted programmes and the professional offering of guidance in specific areas.

Fiji women’s pair boost semi-final hopes with vital win over Kenya
