Congratulations to Jone Davule fighting in the Elite Men 57-60kg category winning his first match against Luckmore Kamoto (Zimbabwe) during the IBA Mens World Boxing Championships 2023 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

It was a unanimous points decision with all 5 judges scoring 5-0 in favour of Jone.

Last night's win ranked him as one of the top 12 amateur/pro boxers in the world in the 57-60kg category as he heads into the last round of 16.

Meanwhile teammate Mikaele Ravalaca lost to Samuel Heredia Carmona (Spain) in the first round.

The IBA Mens World Boxing Championships is a ranking event for elite boxers.

The winners walk away with lucrative cash prizes (Gold US$200k, Silver US100K & Bronze US$50k) with 100% of prize money going to the boxer and not the federation.

Both athletes are accompanied by national coach Cam Todd,  a former New Zealand national coach and International Boxing Association (IBA) three star coach and instructor.
