The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) is saddened to hear of the passing of Mr Roger Kaddour of New Caledonia, at the age of 93.

Mr Kaddour was one of the three original co-authors of the original Pacific Games Charter in 1961; an early President of the Pacific Games Council; Chief Organiser of the South Pacific Games in New Caledonia in 1966 and in 1987; former President of the Comité Territorial Olympique et sportif de Nouvelle-Calédonie (CTOS-NC).

Mr Kaddour was made an inaugural Life Member of the Pacific Games Council, which was awarded by current Pacific Games President Vidhya Lakhan at his last Games in Samoa in 2019.  Mr Kaddour’s passion for sport is clearly seen by the fact that

he had attended every edition of the Pacific Games since its inception!

Mr Kaddour was also a highly successful businessman and an inspiration to all that he met.

FASANOC sends sincere condolences to the Kaddour family and the sporting fraternity in New Caledonia.   The Pacific Games movement has lost a LEGEND.   May he rest in peace.
