A brilliant first half was enough to ensure Team Fiji Rugby Sevens Men's a convincing win against Team Great Britain 33-7 on the second day of competition.
A huge defensive display by Team Fiji completely shut out a dangerous Team Great Britain that was yet to concede a try prior to their meeting.
First half tries from Asaeli Tuivuaka, Juita Wainiqolo and Captain Jerry Tuwai laid the platform for the victory early on in the game.
While the first half showcased Team Fiji's attacking capabilities it was the defensive effort from the team that ensured victory in the second half.
Tuivuaka managed to score his second after some great pressure from the kick off while Aminiasi Tuimaba scored the final try through some defensive blunder from Team Great Britain.
Team Fiji is now through to the quarterfinals which starts from 8.30pm tonight 27th July, 2021.
Meanwhile Team Fiji swimmer Taichi Vakasama will also start his competition starting this evening in the men's s 200 metre Breastroke event from 10.50pm Fiji Time.
