FASANOC invites applications for the position of General Manager (1 position) to join its volunteer management team to assist the Chef de Mission in Team Fiji's preparation and participation at the 2020 Olympic Games, which will be held in Tokyo, from 24 July- 09 August, 2020. The sports with the potential to qualify athletes: Archery, Athletics, Judo, Rugby 7s, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, with the Rugby 7s Men’s Team already qualified.
As the number of team officials for an Olympic Games is restricted by quota according to athlete team size, the appointed General Manager travelling to the Games is subject to the final team size for Team Fiji.
The General Manager position represents a unique and challenging opportunity. We are looking for someone with a passion for sports who has had experience in similar positions, who has strong motivational skills, high-level management and communication skills and who will be a contributing team player. Candidates must have previous successful experience in sporting team management roles and previous involvement with Team Fiji will be an advantage. The successful candidate will also be a certified Oceania Sports Education Program (OSEP) Team Manager or be committed to undertake the OSEP Team Manager course at the next opportunity.
