Tribute - HARI RAJ NAICKER

On behalf of the sporting fraternity, the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (FASANOC) pays tribute to the Late Hari Raj Naicker.

FASANOC was proud to induct Mr Naicker into the Fiji Olympic Order in 2006 for his outstanding contribution and service to the sport of Football in Fiji.

Mr Naicker had devoted his entire life to the development and organisation of sporting activities which included his service as a FIFA referee for a record 17 years from 1975 to 1995 where he had to retire at the mandatory age of 55.

During his career, Hari Raj Naicker has been awarded with many awards for both services to sport and the community with the most recent being the Fiji 50th Independence Commemorative medal for his services to Fiji in 2020. Among his sporting awards was an IOC Diploma he received in 2001 on the occasion of the International Year for Volunteers. He also served as a Board Member for Fiji National Sports Commission.

Mr Naicker also served as a Justice of Peace, Commissioner of Oaths and he is the third person from Fiji to receive a FIFA Order of Merit.

FASANOC and its member National Federations extend their deepest sympathy to the Fiji Football fraternity and the Naicker Family.
