FASANOC's ACE Programme and Athletes Commission acknowledged the hard work of its members during a dinner

The Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee's (FASANOC) Athletes and Communities Engagement (ACE) Programme and Athletes Commission acknowledged the hard work of its members in a weeklong event.

FASANOC President, Makarita Lenoa thanked the ACE programme and the Athletes Commission for their commitment and dedication throughout the year during a special dinner held over the weekend.

"There is unifying power in sport and with that I would like to say thank you to the ACE champions for spreading the International Olympic Committee values of Friendship, Excellence and Respect," she said.

Also present at the event were  FASANOC Chief Executive, Lorraine Mar, Oceania National Olympic Committees and Oceania Regional Anti-Doping Organisation staff.

Members of the ACE programme and the Athletes Commission took part in a week long sports festival which culminated with a dinner whereby champions and commission members were handed certificates that recognised their hard work throughout the year.

FASANOC’s ACE Programme has been very active since the lifting of the COVID Restrictions in Fiji.

The ACE Champions have been delivering the messages of Stay Strong, Stay Healthy, Stay Active, Play True, Play Safe, Go Green and Be A Leader.

The ACE program carried out over 12 outreach activities in 2020 despite the challenges COVID-19 presented. The team travelled to Vanua Levu as well to carry out outreach activities for communities there.

The ACE Programme serves Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committees’ (FASANOC) vision to "Inspire the People of Fiji through sporting excellence" through its purpose which is to encourage, engage and empower athlete leaders and communities in Fiji in the advocacy of Olympic Values, True Spirit of Sport and Social Messages.
