Team Fiji Footballer and Olympian Roy Krishna has been chosen as Team Fiji's flag bearer to the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa in July.

Team Fiji Footballer and Olympian Roy Krishna has been chosen as Team Fiji's flag bearer to the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa in July.

Roy was also the captain and only Fijian Footballer to score a goal in the Olympics after his header against then Olympic Champions Mexico in 2016.

The 32-year-old Labasa native is a Fijian professional footballer who recently signed on as a striker for ATK in the Indian Super League.

Roy has won numerous awards while playing in New Zealand including the Waitakere United New Zealand Football Championship Player of the Year: 2008–2009, 2007 OFC U-20 Championship Golden Boot, 2008 Oceania Footballer of the Year nominee, 2012–13 New Zealand Football Championship Golden Boot, 2016–17 Wellington Phoenix Golden Boot, 2018–19 Wellington Phoenix Golden Boot, Wellington Phoenix Players' Player of the Year: 2016–17, Wellington Phoenix Goal of the season: 2017–18 / vs. Brisbane Roar on 28 October 2017, Wellington Phoenix Player of the year: 2017–18, 2018–19 A-League Golden Boot and the Johnny Warren Medal: 2018–19.

Earlier this year Roy was also nominated as the Fiji Sportsman of the Year.
